Professor Leanne Hodson, Divisional Advocate for Research Staff, welcomed Research Staff Representatives and Advocates for Research Staff from all MSD departments to the 4th annual joint meeting of the MSD Research Staff Forum, kindly hosted by NDORMS on 17 November 2025.
The meeting highlighted work to support the career paths of researchers.
Dr Susan Black from the Careers Service led activities highlighting how Narrative CV can support researchers to plan their career and professional development.
Academic Career and Reward Framework (ACRF) programme manager Rachael Theophile and Prof. Helen McShane (Deputy Head of Medical Sciences Division, Associate Head of Division (People and Translation), ACRF Steering Group Co-Deputy Chair and ACRF Steering Group member) presented an overview of the programme. Feedback from the Forum has supported planning for the forthcoming ACRF consultation in Hilary Term 2026.
Further activities to support careers are planned to continue in 2026, using departmental collaborations and ongoing practice sharing.
