Are you a BlueSky pro? Do you lurk on LinkedIn? Do you think 'TikTok' is a tiny mint-flavoured sweet? Or perhaps you don't use social media at all. We want to hear from you!
The Medical Sciences Divisional Office Communications team is reviewing the social media channels we use to share divisional news, events, and opportunities with staff and students. You can currently find us on X (@OxfordMedSci) and BlueSky (@medsci.ox.ac.uk), but we are keen to understand whether we are using the right channels in the right way. To help shape our approach, we would value your input on how you use social media for work or study purposes. If you don’t use social media, your input is just as valuable.
The survey focuses on social media accounts you use primarily for work or study, including:
- Any social media account you use to post work or study related content
- Any social media account you use to keep up-to-date with professional news, events, and opportunities.
- Any 'work-adjacent personal' account from which you follow a wide range of colleagues/departments/work-related accounts.
It does not include :
- Any personal or private social media accounts that don't overlap with your professional life.
- Any account you use to represent your lab group or another professional group or network, rather than yourself.
Please note, the findings from this survey will inform the divisional approach to its own social media channels; it is not intended to direct or change how departments run theirs. We will share a summary of findings with departments, but departments will continue to manage their own social media channels and strategies.
The survey is anonymous and should take less than 10 minutes to complete.
Closes on Wednesday 6 May.
