September 2023 - Volunteer Opportunities

There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer for studies and clinical trials within the Division. Here are a few studies currently recruiting:

• Help develop a much-needed vaccine against Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever!  If you are aged 18 to 55 years old, in good health and live in the Oxfordshire area, then you may be eligible to take part in the Oxford Vaccine Group study investigating a new vaccine against Crimea-Congo haemorrhagic fever virus. All participants will be reimbursed between £1110 and £1470 for their time, inconvenience, and travel.
• Help to find a vaccine against Paratyphoid Fever by participating in a study at the Oxford Vaccine Group - If you are aged 18 to 55 years old, and in good health, you may be eligible to take part in the VASP study to find a vaccine against paratyphoid fever. All participants will be reimbursed for their time, inconvenience and travel up to £2965.

• Healthy volunteers needed for study developing a cognitive assessment for GPs

• Oxford Vaccine Group are looking for healthy volunteers aged 18 – 30 years old to take part in a new COVID-19 Human Challenge Study.

• Volunteers needed for study exploring experiences of hoarding and homelessness

• Feeling down? We are looking for healthy volunteers aged 18-50 years to take part in a study investigating how a single dose of the medication Losartan affects learning and memory - you will be reimbursed for your time.

• Participants needed for a study exploring the impact of clinical work with trauma. 

• Investigating brain activity (EEG) and behaviour during complex movements using a robot.

• Seeking survey responses from people who offer support to an individual with OCD or hoarding difficulties.

• Volunteers wanted for brain stimulation study

• Native English Speaker needed for a noninvasive brain stimulation study exploring speech perception and production

• Volunteers needed for online study exploring overthinking and shame in young people (aged 16-19 years old)

• Volunteers required for Oxford Airways Study investigating the intricate workings of airways diseases like asthma and COPD. Researchers are looking for participants who are aged over 18 and have suspected or diagnosed asthma or COPD, and also healthy volunteers for comparison purposes.

• Healthy volunteers aged 18-45 sought for immune challenge study
• Volunteers with Parkinson’s Disease needed for short questionnaire study online or by post.
