In a series of lightning talks, all MSD departments shared ideas and challenges in supporting researchers and research culture.

Professor Leanne Hodson, Divisional Advocate for Research Staff, welcomed Research Staff Representatives and Advocates for Research Staff from all MSD departments, for the 3rd annual joint meeting of the MSD Research Staff Forum. Guests from the MPLS Research Staff Forum and Researcher Hub joined the lively discussions, kindly hosted by the Department of Biochemistry on 19th November 2024.

  • Collaboration, including internal seminar series and events
  • Networking opportunities for researchers or staff scientists
  • Professional development, including grants review panels and a business and innovation symposium
  • Recruitment and retention, such as a new structured programmes or pathways for career progression
  • Visibility of different roles and career routes, using workshops, or a video interview series celebrating the diversity of experiences of those who work and study in a department
