Staff and students working on cardiovascular research relevant to the BHF Oxford CRE Themes are invited to enter this year’s BHF Oxford CRE Image Competition as part of the annual BHF Oxford CRE Annual Research Symposium.
The competition seeks to showcase the best of cardiovascular science by bringing to life the work of researchers funded or supported by the British Heart Foundation. It aims to highlight the breadth of translational research being conducted in Oxford — from fundamental molecular studies to pre-clinical and clinical investigations — and to celebrate the scientific impact and creativity across the BHF CRE community.
Submissions are welcomed from all BHF CRE Oxford-affiliated research groups and may include a wide variety of image types. These may represent data acquisition and analysis, bioinformatics outputs, or creatively enhanced visuals designed to illustrate the essence and significance of the research. The competition encourages imaginative approaches to communicating scientific work through visual media.
The most visually compelling, engaging, and creative images will be recognised with a certificate and a gift voucher. Two winners will be selected: one by a panel of judges from across the Oxford BHF CRE, and another by audience vote through a live poll conducted during the symposium. This competition offers a valuable opportunity to showcase your research to a broad audience, with selected entries featured on the BHF Oxford CRE website, social media channels, and at BHF fundraising events.
Image competition deadline: Wednesday 5 November 2025 (12 noon)
