Silent piano

The Bodleian Health Care Libraries have acquired an electronic piano, generously donated by the former Music Faculty Library. It’s now available 24/7 in the Cairns Library at the John Radcliffe Hospital Academic Centre for readers to play. It doesn’t matter if you’re the next Mozart or a complete beginner, you’re warmly encouraged to take a break, plug in the headphones, and play some music, without disturbing those around you.

Examination couches

The Cairns Library at the John Radcliffe Hospital Academic Centre has two examination couches, which medical students and other members of the University can use for training. Email hcl-enquiries@bodleian.ox.ac.uk for more info, or ask at the library help desk.

Oxford University Hospitals Book Club

The Bodleian Health Care Libraries are running free book clubs at the JR and Horton General. The next books on our reading list are City of Vengeance by DV Bishop (Cairns Library) and Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch (Horton Library). Visit the library's events calendar for dates and to sign up. All MSD staff and students are welcome to attend!

Systematic Review Platform: Covidence

This is a reminder that staff and students at the University of Oxford have free access to Covidence, online systematic review management software, which makes managing reviews easier. Find out more by visiting the University of Oxford Covidence page.

Study rooms at the Cairns Library

Looking for a private study space over the holiday period? The Cairns Library at the John Radcliffe Hospital Academic Centre has five rooms, all of which are available to members of the University to book 24/7/365.  Book online or in-person at the library.
