This MSD Skills training course consists of online pre-recorded videos and self-directed practical exercises arranged into 7 modules covering a wide range of statistical methods. All course content can be approached using the statistical programmes of R, Stata, or SPSS. Once registered with the course, all students are able to access content for whichever modules and statistical software programmes suit their needs. Each module contains approximately 2-hours of pre-recorded lecture material (split into short videos), one hour of practical content, readings in an online textbook, multiple choice quizzes, and the option to sign up for a one-hour online tutorial working through the practical content.

This session is for anyone who writes any sort of grant application including for a complex programme, an RCT, a qualitative study or a secondary analysis (or new scout hut, for that matter) led by Professor Sue Ziebland who was until recently the Programme Director for NIHR Research for Patient Benefit, Nuffield Dept of Primary Care Health Sciences. During a lively and interactive workshop Sue will explain how to use a tried and tested method for helping to structure your research grant proposal. Attendees will learn how to write a research grant application and learn how to improve their skills in application writing.
