Pre-clinical medicine: Will taking an Extended Project (EPQ) help my application?
As Extended Projects (EPQs) are not a compulsory element of post-16 study, they would not be used as a condition for entry, nor as an extra criterion during the shortlisting process. However, as we recognise that the project might provide you with an opportunity to develop research and academic skills relevant for studying Medicine, you are encouraged to draw upon your experience of undertaking the project when writing your personal statement, particularly if the topic is relevant to Medicine.
