Pre-clinical medicine: Does Medicine participate in the Organ Scholarship scheme?
Applicants for Organ Scholarships may apply for entry to the A100 medicine course. However, applicants should note that the teaching timetable for years 1 and 2 of the medical course is relatively intense, with large numbers of lectures and compulsory classes, as well as tutorials, and to combine this with an Organ Scholarship would be extremely demanding.
Candidates for A100 Medicine would not receive an academic examination at the time of the September Organ Trials. They would be required to follow the same separate application process as all other applicants for the course and their application would be treated in the normal way as part of a single gathered field. It should be noted that admission for the course is highly competitive, with almost 10 applicants per available place in recent years, and that no preference will be given to Organ Scholarship recipients.
