How to apply

The closing date for application for entry each year is October in the year before you intend to start the course, e.g. the deadline for October 2024 entry will be October 2023.

All applications must be submitted via UCAS, and every applicant must register to sit the Biomedical Admissions Test (BMAT). See: https://www.admissionstesting.org/for-test-takers/bmat/bmat-october/dates-and-costs/

Please note, the University of Oxford will not accept BMAT results from the September sitting for A100 Medicine.

Key dates for applying in 2023

1 September: BMAT registration opens

29 September:  BMAT closing date for registration and deadline to apply for reimbursement of registration fee; see https://www.admissionstesting.org/for-test-takers/bmat/bmat-october/dates-and-costs/  

AND

16 October 6pm BST: UCAS application deadline

18 October: BMAT test date; see https://www.admissionstesting.org/for-test-takers/bmat/bmat-october/dates-and-costs/  

Late November: Shortlisting decisions are communicated to applicants by email

Mid-December: Interviews for Medicine in 2023

Mid-January 2024: Final decisions are communicated to applicants by colleges
