Clinical Study

This page sets out the application procedure specific to the three-year clinical course. You should also refer to the separate general page about applying to study Medicine at Oxford University, which includes information covering fitness to practise and health.

Application procedure

Oxford and London (Barts and The London School of Medicine & Dentistry) are part of a joint admissions scheme.  Only Oxford pre-clinical students may apply to Oxford for their clinical study. Registered Oxford pre-clinical final year medical students who are eligible to progress to clinical studies may apply through this scheme.  In the event of any vacancies on the Oxford course, these will be advertised for applicants from other Schools in January, however, please be advised that all places are normally filled by the Oxford pre-clinical student applicants.

Please Note; Oxford students starting the Pre-clinical course in 2021 or later (ie starting the Clinical course in 2024 or later) no longer have the option of a London transfer. Oxford would be willing to consider giving permission to transfer to any student wishing to make an ad hominem application to a London School.
