What we would expect you to achieve at the end of your Elective placement
By the end of your Elective, you should have had the opportunity:
- To develop your own knowledge and skills in clinical medicine, and contribute to others' development, through active participation in tutorials and bedside teaching
- To gain an understanding of disease processes in the area of your Elective subject, and how these may present
- To appreciate the influence of social and cultural factors in health and illness
- To meet and socialise with other medical students from Oxford, elsewhere in the UK and overseas
- To use time and resources effectively
- To understand the organisation of health care provision in the UK
- To compare the system at Oxford University and other systems you have experienced
