Supporting Oxford researchers
The Translational Research Office (TRO) can advise on translational research projects ensuring their progression towards novel therapies, techniques and medical products with therapeutic value.
How we can help Oxford researchers:
-
Support the development of effective translation strategies that are attractive to funders, accelerating the progression towards clinical and/or commercial impact.
-
Identify funding opportunities and support the generation of high quality applications to secure investment and facilitate seamless progression along the translation pathway.
-
Support the development of robust project plans, ensuring milestone-driven with appropriate timeframes and risk mitigation strategies.
-
Connect you to internal and external infrastructures or resources to support translational endeavours eg. Oxford University Innovation (OUI) or the Experts in Residence (ExIR).
-
Provide you with research project management support for major funded translational programmes.
-
Identify suitable proof-of-concept funding for Oxford-based researchers through the Medical and Life Sciences Translation Fund.
Translational Project Management
The TRO can offer hands-on project management support to funded translational projects. A Translational Research Manager (TRM) will be seconded to the project team bringing management expertise, knowledge and experience of all major funding schemes and programmes to ensure successful delivery. The TRM can generate a feasible project plan at application stage then monitor the project alongside the research team to ensure it remains on track and in scope, pre-empting and resolving issues, effectively managing budgets and assist with reporting to funders.
Please contact the TRO if you require assistance managing your project.
