With your letter of confirmation informing you that you have been offered a place on the Elective Programme you will receive Occupational Health forms.   An appointment will be made for you at the Department of Occupational Health on the John Radcliffe Hospital site on the first Monday of your placement.   You will need to take the completed forms with you and have blood taken for the following tests:

  • Hepatitis B Surface Antigen
  • Hepatitis B Antibodies
  • Hepatitis C Antibodies
  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
  • Status for German Measles
  • Status for Measles
  • Status for Chicken Pox
  • Status for TB

It will take one week, probably less, for your test results to be processed.   Until you have been cleared by Occupational Health you can only observe clinical work.  There is no charge for these tests.
