Selection Criteria for the Elective Programme.

Applications are selected on the basis of:
  • Good communication skills in English
  • A good academic record
  • Quality of recommendation by two referees from your home university
  • The extent to which the applicant is likely to benefit from this Elective
  • A good CV

The number of Elective students accepted from any one country each year is limited to promote equity.   Applications from countries which host Oxford medical students may receive a higher priority.

50 places are available to Elective students each year.

You must be a medical student at the time of your Elective placement.  Qualified doctors are not accepted on the Elective programme.
