Senior Research Scientist
- Senior Course Tutor, Online Programme in Sleep Medicine
After completing my PhD at Imperial College London, I entered the emerging research field of melanopsin-expressing retinal ganglion cell photoreceptors.
I was subsequently appointed as lecturer in Visual Neuroscience at Imperial College London in 2005 and soon after moved to the University of Oxford to take the position of Senior Research Scientist.
The photosensitive retinal ganglion cells remain my primary research focus. My group explores their basic physiology as well as their role in conditions of retinal disease.
I have also recently been appointed Senior Course Tutor for the Online Programme in Sleep Medicine. This course, which leads to a PGDip or MSc in Sleep Medicine, starts in October 2016.
