Course Aims

An informal discussion to make successful viva.

  • To inform students of examination formalities and University regulations. 
  • To assist students in examination preparations.
  • To allow students to hear the opinions of examiners and previous students.

Course Format

This course will take place as a workshop, which will involve presentations and informal discussions, with free rein for students to ask questions throughout.

Examiners can 'red flag' problems that have occurred in the past, but they can also discuss what makes for an excellent candidate and successful viva. There will be chance for informal discussions with post-docs who have recently successfully passed their viva voce examination in Med Sci.
