Training & Development for Clinical Trial Management
Each Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) provides training and development for their staff. The University also offers a range of academic and professional development courses related to clinical trial management.
As an employee of Oxford University, staff have access to a range of courses and workshops on topics such as Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the Human Tissue Act and obtaining ethics and HRA approvals.
The People and Organisational Development team within the University offers a range of online and in person training to support transferable skills development in areas such as project management, leadership, influencing and presentation skills. University IT Services offer training in a wide range of IT skills and software packages.
The University offers several courses related to clinical trials, including:
- Randomised Controlled Trials course: A Guide to Design, Conduct, Analysis, Interpretation and Reporting - this annual course provides a thorough grounding in the principles and practice of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) for evaluating healthcare interventions.
- MSc in Clinical Trials - a two-year, part-time distance learning course that provides a thorough training in both the theoretical and practical aspects of conducting randomised clinical trials.
- MSc in Experimental and Translational Therapeutics - a part-time course that brings together some of Oxford's leading clinicians and scientists to deliver an advanced modular programme designed for those in full-time employment, both in the UK and overseas.
