My research is based on the development and application of statistical methods to studies in primary care. My main areas of current interest include diagnosis and clinical risk prediction, and the application of meta-analytic methods.
I provide statistical support for the RAPTOR-C19 workstream of the CONDOR (COVID-19 National Diagnostic Research and Evaluation) Platform, the NIHR Community Healthcare MedTech and In Vitro Diagnostics Co-operative, the TOUCAN study, and the Mental Health theme of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Oxford and Thames Valley. Previously I worked on the OxRisk forensic psychiatry risk prediction programme, the RAPSS study in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry, and with the Cochrane Tobacco Addiction Group.
I coordinate the Year 1 & 2 medical statistics teaching of the Oxford pre-clinical (First BM) course, an accredited short course on Clinical Prediction Rules, and contribute to other modules on the postgraduate programmes in Evidence-Based Health Care.
