Siân Sweetland

Senior Statistical Epidemiologist

Siân Sweetland joined the Cancer Epidemiology Unit (CEU) as a statistician in 2002, working mainly on individual and collaborative studies of cervical cancer. She completed a DPhil on risk factors for pulmonary embolism in 2008, and is now a statistical epidemiologist working on various research projects within the Million Women Study.

Siân’s particular research interest is in venous thromboembolism and she is currently investigating the relationship between cancer and venous thromboembolism. Siân is also a principal member of the Collaborative Group on Epidemiological Studies of Endometrial Cancer.
