We are committed to minimising disruptions to campus users. Here you will find information about current and upcoming road closures and detours.

plot b1

access restriction

To facilitate safe operation during ground excavation works there is now a temporary road closure adjacent to Plot B1.  Location of the closure is shown in green on the below image.

This area will not be accessible to vehicles during the closure period. Traffic management signage is in place to divert vehicles and banksman will be in place to turn around vehicles between the rear of NDMRB and BDI or reverse to the rear of ORCRB.

It is anticipated that the road closure will be lifted by end of w/c 1st December . We will advise if there are any adjustments to this date.

Plot b2

welfare cabin delivery

Laing O'Rourke will be taking delivery of their welfare cabins on the following dates
Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th, and Friday 5th December

The cabins will be installed into the site area opposite the rear of Boundary Brook House. During this period, to ensure the safety of campus users, the footpath to the rear of Boundary Brook House and rear door entrance of Boundary Brook House will not be accessible.

To help you plan accordingly, please note the following access arrangements:

  • Access to the IDRM cycle shed will be retained
  • Access into Boundary Brook House will be via the front entrance only
  • Access to IDRM will be via Roosevelt Drive or Old Road as indicated in green on the below diagram

Pedestrian/traffic marshalls will be on site each day to guide people safely and keep routes clear.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as these measures are in place to prioritise everyone’s safety

idrm access road diversion

Due to a requirement for service diversions a temporary diversion to the road between IDRM and Innovations building is in place. It is anticipated that normal access will be reinstated prior to the delivery of cabins as detailed above.
The indicative road layout is shown in the image below. Red lines indicate hoarding lines.

Vehicle access to IDRM and the Innovation Building will be maintained at all times and will be actively monitored by Laing O'Rourke during working hours.
The footway alongside the Innovation Building will be narrowed with hoarding as indicated by the green line shown. Access will be maintained at all times.

Nursery path

The path adjacent to the Triangle nursery remains restricted to pedestrians only throughout the duration of Plot B2 works. A fencing chicane system has been installed to encourage cyclists to dismount and push bikes along this pathway.

Cyclists must dismount along this path for the safety of all path users. Thank you for your support with this.
