progress and Look ahead

The Topping Out ceremony for Plot B1(Global Health Building) was held on 17th July to commemorate the completion of the highest part of the building. You can read more about this event on the University Estates website New Global Health Building reaches its highest point | Estates Services

Plot B1 internal and facade works continue, with facade an window installations almost complete.

Plot B2 sheet piling works are now scheduled as per update below.

plot b2 sheet piling works

Sheet piling works are scheduled for Plot B2.
This work will be undertaken in 2 phases
  • Tuesday 28 October – Saturday 1 November 2025 inclusive
  • Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th November
This activity is likely to generate noticeable noise and vibration.
The project team has worked hard to minimise the amount of piling required for the development and, while it has not been possible to eliminate disruption entirely, we are doing our best to reduce the impact to campus of these necessary works.
The project team are working to take all reasonable steps to manage noise, keep the works within permitted hours, and maintain communication throughout.
Please note. While these periods are now very likely, there is always a possibility that the dates may adjust depending on ground conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.
We will advise as soon as possible should there be any amendments to this scheduling.

B1 crane delivery and removal - 6th and 8th October

No road closures are required, however there may be a temporary road block for approximately 20 minutes for the offload. This process will be reversed when the crane is removed from site on Wednesday 8th October.
There will also be a delivery of a smaller crane which will arrive and leave on Friday 10th October. No road blockages are anticipated for this activity.

Road Closures & Detours

Nursery path

The path adjacent to the Triangle nursery remains restricted to pedestrians only throughout the duration of Plot B2 works. A fencing chicane system has been installed to encourage cyclists to dismount and push bikes along this pathway.

Cyclists must dismount along this path for the safety of all path users. Thank you for your support with this.

Access to the campus from the South is unaffected.Image to show location of path alongside Triangle nursery which is restricted to pedestrians only
