Plot B1 

Current activities 

  • Internal fit out
  • External cladding and ground works
  • The area highlighted in red below remains fenced off. The work to develop this route into a formal pathway is scheduled for completion July 2026
    Please use alternative access points as shown in yellow.

  • The vegetation clearance has been undertaken in accordance with mitigation measures instructed by the ecology consultant to ensure minimal impact to wildlife and the environment.

Future activities

  • Removal of Morgan Sindall cabins adjacent to Boundary Brook House via crane lift. Scheduled 20th - 21st June (weather permitting). Further details will be provided shortly.
  • Furniture deliveries with associated increase of large vehicle movements. Scheduled mid-June. 

Road closure between plot b1 and ndmrb 

  • The closure will be in operation from Saturday 7th February 2026 until further notice (estimated end June 2026)
  • This is to facilitate the storage of materials and preparation for future ground works required for the completion of the B1 development. The closure area is indicated in red shaded area below.

  • There will be no vehicle, pedestrian or cycle access through this area during the closure period.
  • The closure and traffic diversions will be clearly signposted and vehicle access managed with Traffic Marshalls / Banks persons. 
  • The traffic management plan below provides more detail of vehicle routes and closure points.

  • Access to Triangle Nursery is retained

  • BOC deliveries to CHG and hazardous waste collections will be facilitated as required

  • Access to NDMRB goods in via roller shutter / Nitrogen deliveries will be facilitated as required

Plot B2

Current activities 

  • Concrete pouring continues. Scheduled completion Mid-July
  • Current activities are expected to result in minimal noise and vibration. Mitigations and monitoring remain in place
  • Please be aware of frequent large vehicle movements from the site linked to this activity

Future activities

  • Installation of 2nd tower crane. Methodology will be as per the previous crane erection, with all activities being contained within the site boundary. Currently scheduled for weekend of 14th - 15th June 2026 (weather permitting). Further details will be shared shortly.

Temporary closure of idrm access road  

From Tuesday 26th May, the IDRM access road will be closed to pedestrians for approximately two weeks to facilitate service duct works. Preparatory works may be visible from Friday 22nd May.

During this period, pedestrians will need to use alternative routes, as shown on the map below:

  1. Via the nursery path, Old Road and the Boundary Brook House entrance
  2. Via the Innovation Building cut-through. (University card access only 20:00 - 08:00)
  3. Via the main campus entrance, Roosevelt Drive and the IDRM park entrance

Cycle parking - Triangle nursery

  • The cycle bays located as outlined in green below are allocated for staff and parents/carers of Triangle nursery only. Your support with this is appreciated.

nursery path

  • The path adjacent to the Triangle nursery remains restricted to pedestrians only throughout the duration of Plot B2 works. A fencing chicane system has been installed to encourage cyclists to dismount and push bikes along this pathway. 
  • Cyclists must dismount along this path for the safety of all path users. Thank you for your support with this. 
  • Access to the campus from the South is unaffected.
