This week has been busy with continued progress in Plot B1 with ongoing 2nd and 3rd floor superstructure works which will be progressing for the next 3 weeks.

At B2 site clearance has begun and hoarding put up.

Nursery access path

Maylarch began site preparation and clearance works on Tuesday 6 May. The site perimeter is now enclosed with fencing.

Trench digging for relocation of utility cables has commenced with noisy works contained before 11am and after 3pm. Activity will start at the top of the path alongside the nursery. The construction area will be fenced in as they move down the path.

The path will remain open for pedestrians only throughout the duration of these works. Alternative access points for cycles will be via Boundary Brook House car park and Access point 2, as per the details under Road Closures & Detours below.

Access to nursery buggy store and fire escapes will be retained.

Cycle hoops

The cycle hoops alongside the nursery will be relocated to the pavement opposite the main nursery entrance.

Look ahead

  • Plot B1 Global Health Building - works will continue, with topping out of the building currently scheduled for July 2025

  • Plot B2 - site clearance and enabling works will continue for the next few weeks

Campus impact

In all development activities, efforts are made to minimise the impact on the campus environment and its day-to-day operations. However, certain disruptions may be inevitable during large-scale projects due to their complexity and scope.

Plot B2 site clearance and enabling works will entail the use of plant machinery. This is not anticipated to cause significant noise or disruption although there may be periods of increased noise. Potentially disruptive activities are scheduled to take place before 11am and after 3pm during normal working hours, Monday to Friday.

No weekend or out-of-hours works are scheduled for either project.
