There is a range of support and development opportunities for both staff and students

Support and Development for Staff

  • Support for Researchers - Oxford provides a huge range of different support services for research staff, ranging from assistance for new research staff to career advice
  • University of Oxford Careers Service - provides a range of services for researchers including one-to-one advice, CV and interview skills and occupational careers talks
  • The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) - supports all those who teach at the University of Oxford and promote a range of teaching practices that are relevant to Oxford's unique learning environment.
  • People and Organisational Development (POD) - will design, advise on and deliver personal development workshops, programmes and coaching and mentoring schemes for all staff groups, and a range of practical support for leaders and managers. There are two programmes designed especially for women: Springboard personal development programme for women and the Ad Feminam mentoring programme
  • Medical Sciences Skills Training - provides professional development, training and skills for graduate research students and research staff
  • University of Oxford Research Staff Society (OxRSS) - a collective voice for researchers employed by the University of Oxford. They also organise social and professional networking activities across departments and divisions with the aim to provide a single body to foster the exchange of ideas amongst peers across the University, and to represent them within the University and beyond. To keep up to date on all the latest training, networking and social opportunities available to you, sign up to the Research Staff Mailing List.
  • Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School (OUCAGS) - provides seminars, an accredited programme of research training, offers overseas academic and clinical placements, and assists in identifying funding opportunities.
  • Oxford Women’s Network (OWN) - designed to connect female faculty, staff and students, serve as a clearing-house for services and information (conferences, training courses, etc.) and serve as a forum for networking and discussion of issues affecting women in the University
  • Staff Benefits - University staff are eligible for a range of benefits, including bicycle schemes, bus passes, parking, childcare, gym membership etc.
