Two Posts available (0.5FTE funded research time for 2 years)

The development of Clinical Academic Careers for the health and care professional workforce is a key strategic aim for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre.  In partnership with the University of Oxford, we are delighted to offer two prestigious Academic Clinical Lectureships (0.5 research/0.5 clinical) in the Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School (OUCAGS).

You will need to:

  1. Have submitted a thesis for a PhD/DPhil at the time of application, and have been awarded the degree before taking up the post;
  2. Be either an Oxford University Hospitals or University of Oxford employee;
  3. Be from any health and care profession (NMC, HCPC etc.);
  4. Have full support from your line manager to apply for a part-time secondment to the University for two years.

The Clinical Lecturers will receive tailored support and mentorship from a designated Academic Training Programme Manager within the OUCAGS leadership team, as well as experienced researchers within the University of Oxford, depending on specific developmental needs.

During the Clinical Lectureship you will be expected to develop a post-doctoral research project within one of the Departments of the Medical Sciences Division in the University of Oxford. You will be supported to produce pilot data to enable future Fellowship or major grant applications to major charitable or government funders. The intended outcome of the Clinical Lectureship is that you will become an independent Principal Investigator within the University of Oxford.

A competitive recruitment processes will be undertaken, and the Clinical Lecturers will be in post by April 2026.
