Fadi is Professor of Transplantation and jointly leads the Transplantation Research Immunology Group with Prof Joanna Hester. His work centres on translation with a particular focus on cell therapies that modulate the immune system to prevent transplant rejection and treat immune mediated disease.
TRIG is a dynamic community of graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and clinical academics with a shared interest in immune regulation. The group integrates discovery science with carefully designed early phase clinical studies, keeping a clear line of sight to patient benefit. A major theme is the manipulation and characterisation of regulatory T cells.
Fadi is Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Immunology, Executive Editor of Transplantation, and Associate Editor of the European Burns Journal. He serves on the Steering Committee of FOCIS, and previously chaired The TTS Transplantation Science Committee.
Clinically and academically, Fadi aims to accelerate safe and effective immune interventions into practice by building the evidence base and the partnerships needed for adoption. He is committed to supporting early career researchers across scientific and clinical pathways. Prospective students and fellows are encouraged to get in touch.
