Shenghong He

Parkinson’s UK Senior Research Fellow

Shenghong He earned his D.Phil. in Engineering from the South China University of Technology, China, in December 2017. In May 2018, he joined Professor Huiling Tan’s group as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist and has remained with the unit since then.

In 2021, Shenghong was awarded a Guarantors of Brain Non-Clinical Postdoctoral Fellowship, followed by an International Exchanges Award from the Royal Society in 2022. Most recently, in 2025, he received a Senior Research Fellowship from Parkinson’s UK and established his own research group.

His research focuses on integrating brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) with neuromodulation techniques to investigate how neural activity drives behaviour and how brain stimulation interacts with these processes.
