In his new book, Professor Willem Kuyken, Ritblat Professor of Mindfulness and Psychological Science and Director of the University of Oxford Mindfulness Research Centre, aims to provide easy-to-use mindfulness resources that can be implemented into daily life. He said:
In my new book I argue that mindfulness draws on ancient wisdom and modern psychology to offer three keys to unlocking a life well lived: befriending our body and mind, living according to our values, and paying attention to life as it unfolds. These ideas are not theoretical. They are practical actionable ways to live a good life.
Many people can feel overstimulated and find it harder than ever to stay present in modern society. Professor Kuyken believes current mindfulness teachings are too removed from how we live, leading to many giving up the practice after only a short time.
