Translational Research Coordinator

I joined the Translational Research Office (TRO) as a Translational Research Coordinator in October 2023. As a member of the TRO team, I work towards building the bridge between the basic biological research and practical health benefits by supporting the funding applications, translational strategy design and expert training.

Before joining the TRO, I was completing an MRes Neuroscience postgraduate research degree at the University of Nottingham. My research project investigated the effects of the high-fat diet on markers of Alzheimer's neurodegeneration in a genetically stratified Drosophila population. Alongside my studies, I worked with a united team of scientists at the Pain Centre Versus Arthritis who aim to improve our understanding and treatments of pain through multidisciplinary and translational research. In my post, I supported the functioning of the Pain Centre and coordinated a Patient and Public Advisory Group (PPAG).

Before that, I graduated from the University of Sussex with the Medical Neuroscience BSc Hons degree and worked with the School of Psychology as part of the Junior Research Associate (JRA) Scheme.
