The Divisional HR team administers various aspects of HR processes relating to:

  • Academic appointments: substantive academic posts (Professorships, Associate Professorships, Associate Professorships Clinical) and Academic/Clinical Lecturerships
  • Divisional Office appointments (academic-related and support posts funded by the Divisional Office)
  • Administration of honorary titles (University Research Lecturerships, Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturerships, Visiting Professorships, Tutors in General Practice, Associate Professorships).

The team’s responsibilities include management of administrative procedures and processes relating to all academic appointments in the Division, including recruitment, initial period review, re-appointment, retirement, payroll, sabbatical and other leave. We support departments with the processes related to academic appointments and liaise with colleges and University bodies as needed. For our clinical academic appointments the team liaises with the relevant NHS Trusts and Royal Colleges.

The team is also responsible for the management of all HR administrative procedures and processes relating to the employment of Divisional Office staff, and advises on relevant policies.

The team provides specialist HR advice to heads of department and departmental administrators, and supports the strategic development, implementation and review of comprehensive policies and practices on the employment of all Divisional staff in liaison with central University Personnel Services.
