Development Office

The role of the University’s Development Office is to generate philanthropic support for the University.

Within the Development Office there is a team of fundraisers dedicated to the Medical Sciences Division. Our focus is to secure major gifts for priority projects across the Division, working closely with the Head of Division, the Regius Professor of Medicine and Heads of Department.

We manage over 300 gifts each year, from charitable trusts and foundations, corporations, alumni and non-alumni. In recent years these gifts include funding in support of major capital projects, research projects, posts, studentships and equipment.

We work closely with colleagues across the Development Office, including the teams focused on Regular Giving, Legacies and Principal Gifts. We also continue to maintain a strong partnership with our University offices in New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo who facilitate philanthropy worldwide.

We also work with a number of Development teams that offer particular support functions. These include the Research Team (which gathers information on potential and existing donors and assists with ethical scrutiny of donations); the Proposals Team (which writes proposals and project information); the Gift Registry (which records and processes donations received by the University and on behalf of colleges); the DARS Support Centre (which supports our database, the Developmental and Alumni Relations System); and the Donor Relations and Communications teams (which ensure that donors are appropriately thanked and stewarded through events and communications).

Please feel free to contact us for advice on all aspects of philanthropic fundraising.
