Having completed his undergraduate studies in London, Gurdeep started his training in the East of England deanery. He then moved to Oxford to complete his specialist training in general surgery. He was then awarded an NIHR academic clinical lecturership in general surgery alongside his clinical research fellowship in cancer surgery.   His research interest is in cancer epidemiology.
