Sasha Shepperd

Sasha is Professor of Health Services Research, co-lead of the Applied Health Research Unit, and coordinating editor for the international Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC) Review Group.
Her main interest is health systems research, this includes generating evidence to guide the design of health services with a focus on population ageing. Research methods include the conduct of randomised trials, systematic reviews and meta-analysis of the global evidence, and the use of large databases.
Sasha is the chief investigator of a NIHR funded multi-site randomised trial of Acute Care in the Home. Through her work in health systems research she has developed an interest in streamlining randomised trials of complex interventions, and related methodological research. She has worked for a number of years on strengthening graduate education in population health.
After an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Vermont, Sasha completed a master's at the Harvard School of Public Health and a DPhil at the University of Oxford.
