These funding schemes are either managed by the Medical Sciences Division or are managed by a central University team and have an MSD divisional sub-committee. These schemes are currently open to applications, and/or further rounds may be open to applications in future.

Medical Sciences Internal Fund: Pump priming

The pump-priming funding scheme accepts applications for small awards (up to £12,000) to enable researchers to obtain pilot data to support larger-scale applications for external research funding in the future.

John Fell Fund

This is a University of Oxford fund intended to foster creativity and a proactive approach to research opportunities in all subject areas, and particularly interdisciplinary fields. It will make seed corn and start-up grants, and provide funds to stimulate applications to external funding bodies.
