Medical Sciences Doctoral Training Centre Administrator

The Medical Sciences Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) was set up in 2008 to support Wellcome Trust funded doctoral programmes within the Medical Sciences Division. It operates within the administrative structure of the Medical Sciences Graduate School and now provides support for approximately 140 students on eight cross-departmental DPhil training programmes, seven funded by the Wellcome Trust and one by the British Heart Foundation. In conjunction with the Graduate School and its Skills Training team, the DTC aims to enhance the research training environment provided by departments by ensuring that training provision and access to relevant academic forums is maximised for these programmes. The aim is to provide an enriching academic culture in which networking, career development, and scientific cross-fertilisation will be positively promoted.

As the DTC Administrator my responsibilities cover:

  • Student administration & centre management
  • Advertising & admissions
  • DTC finances
  • Events management
