I am taking a Foundation or Access course. Would this be suitable for entry?
These courses can meet the basic requirements for entry with certain provisos, but they will only be acceptable alternatives to A-level if it can be demonstrated that the course covers the same content as the A-levels we ask for in our entry criteria (and to an equal standard). In addition, entry to the course should be competitive in nature, the syllabus should be assessed by formal written examination, and the final result should be classified (a distinction would normally be required for you to be competing on a level playing field with other applicants).
If you are in doubt as to your academic suitability for the course, please write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org with full details of the course.
We do not recommend any particular Access or Foundation courses.
