Jennifer Kain

I joined the Medical Sciences Division in September 2025 as Head of Assurance, a newly created role leading the development of an integrated approach to governance, risk, compliance, and assurance across the Division and its departments. I lead both the Governance, Risk and Compliance Hub and the Divisional Safety Team, providing strategic direction as we continue to build and evolve our services and capabilities to support departments in maturing their risk management activities. 

I bring over 20 years of international experience across the higher education, professional services, and financial services sectors, with deep expertise in governance, risk management, compliance, and internal and external audit and assurance. Most recently, I served as Head of Information Governance, Compliance and Assurance at NDORMS, following 14 years at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where I was the institution’s inaugural Chief Assurance and Risk Officer. 

I am an active member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and ISACA, both globally recognised professional bodies in the governance, risk, compliance, and information security domains.
