Charlotte Rush
Clinical Academic Development Manager
I’m the Clinical Academic Development Manager at the Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School (OUCAGS), where we support and guide clinical academic trainees as they build their careers in Oxford. We work closely with the University, the Postgraduate Medical Education Deanery, and NHS partners to provide advice on academic careers, recruitment, training, and funding. Our team is dedicated to helping Academic Specialised Foundation doctors, Academic Clinical Fellows (ACFs), and Clinical Lecturers (CLs) succeed, ensuring they have the opportunities and support they need in a competitive and challenging environment.
In our day-to-day work, we manage the financial and administrative aspects of academic training posts, including those funded through the NIHR Integrated Academic Training (IAT) Programme, collaborating closely with the Head of Clinical Academic Development and the Medical Sciences Division’s Finance Team. Our operational team also coordinates recruitment and monitoring processes and maintains strong relationships with NHS England Workforce Training & Education, local NHS Trusts, and national funding bodies such as NIHR and Wellcome.
