Research Funding Manager
Currently on maternity leave, please contact Peter Barber.
As the Research Funding Manager I support implementation and development of the Medical Sciences Division’s research strategy, with specific responsibility for the Division's internal research funding streams. I am Secretary of the Wellcome Institutional Strategic Support Fund (ISSF), the Medical Sciences Internal Fund (MSIF) and the John Fell Fund MSD sub-committee. Among other funding schemes, I also administer the COVID-19 Research Response Fund and the COVID-19 Rebuilding Research Momentum Fund.
I support the Head of the Research Strategy and Funding team and the Strategic Bids Manager with applying and reporting to external funders for large and strategic grants and with preparation of the REF 2021 submission. I also lead the Division's coordinated bids processes to select Oxford’s candidates for external funding when the number of applicants is restricted by the funder.
I started my career in research support in the University of Cambridge Department of Paediatrics in 2008. My background is in clinical research and I joined the University of Oxford’s Department of Oncology in 2011 where I managed early and late phase clinical trials in cancer treatment and prevention. I joined the Medical Sciences Divisional Office in January 2018, first as a Project Manager in the Business Partnerships team, before moving to my current role in the Research Strategy and Funding team.
