I have been a GP partner in Thame, Oxfordshire since 1990, currently working six clinical sessions.

As Associate Director of the four year graduate-entry course my responsibilities include:

  • Organizing the first year clinical placements in primary care and district general hospitals
  • Overseeing some clinical placements in the second year
  • Providing ‘real life’ case-based seminars for first year students
  • Running the first and second year summative clinical exams (OSCES)
  • Leading the behavioural sciences module
  • Contributing to the ethics teaching
  • Coordinating the student-led Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) and attending other educational committees
  • Pastoral care of students
  • Internal medicine examiner for 2nd Bachelor of Medicine (BM) (medical finals examination)
