I have been a GP partner in Thame, Oxfordshire since 1990, currently working six clinical sessions.
As Associate Director of the four year graduate-entry course my responsibilities include:
- Organizing the first year clinical placements in primary care and district general hospitals
- Overseeing some clinical placements in the second year
- Providing ‘real life’ case-based seminars for first year students
- Running the first and second year summative clinical exams (OSCES)
- Leading the behavioural sciences module
- Contributing to the ethics teaching
- Coordinating the student-led Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) and attending other educational committees
- Pastoral care of students
- Internal medicine examiner for 2nd Bachelor of Medicine (BM) (medical finals examination)
