Membership & Joining
Eligibility
ASCEND membership is open to staff who either identify as women or gender non-conforming. This includes trans women and those who are comfortable in women-centred spaces. We also particularly encourage membership from Black women and women of colour. We are a cross-divisional, cross-institutional network that encompasses both the University of Oxford’s Medical Sciences Division and Oxford University Hospitals. Membership is therefore open to both non-clinical and clinical research staff working within either organisation at a mid/senior level. We also welcome clinical staff who are engaged with research, such as research nurses, pathologists, radiographers, and other allied health professionals
We define senior researchers as those who have secured funding as principal investigators/leaders of their own research group, including but not limited to Associate Professors, Senior Clinical Lecturers and Senior Research Fellows.
We define mid-career researchers as those who are either looking to secure, or who have recently secured, independent funding, including but not limited to Postdoctoral Researchers, Academic Clinical Lecturers and Research Fellows.
