Biomedical Training Courses
Changes to personal and project licence training
The University of Oxford is changing the provision of Personal Licence training courses (PIL) and Project Licence Holder (PPL) training courses. As of Wednesday 1 July 2026, BMS will only be providing add-on personal licence training for non-human primates, ferrets and hamsters. Training for other species, and for project licence applicants can be taken through our affiliated providers, the Royal Veterinary college (RVC) and Red Kite Veterinary Consultants Limited (Red Kite), and UCL.
Please note, if you are booked onto our PIL course starting on Monday 22 June, this will be running as scheduled, but it will be the final course.
This page will be updated with details of the new arrangements shortly. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email training@bms.ox.ac.uk.
