Carole Bataille
Translational Research Manager
In my primary role (80% FTE) as Translational Research Manager I operate at the interface between academic teams and MSD’s innovation portfolio to accelerate therapeutic concepts from early discovery towards clinical development. Responsibilities I deliver in alignment with the TRO mission and service provision include: Scientific leadership for translational strategy, Operational delivery and programme governance, Access to specialist expertise and networks, Strategic development planning, and Stakeholder and partnership management.
I trained in Organic Chemistry at the University of Rouen and completed my PhD at the University of Southampton, followed by postdoctoral research in synthetic and medicinal chemistry at the University of Oxford. Since 2008, I have worked in Professor Angela Russell’s group in the CRL, on small-molecule drug discovery programmes, including current work on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), developing next-generation aryl hydrocarbon receptor antagonists as utrophin modulators. I continue to contribute to this research portfolio (20%).
