Governance is the way an organisation functions – the way it makes its decisions, providing a framework for authority and accountability. This permeates through the University and flows to the Divisions.
Risk Management
Risk management done well encourages informed decision making, reduces uncertainty and leaves an organisation better prepared to handle events – both positive and negative.
Compliance
There are certain things an organisation must do. These may be defined internally (in the case of the University through the statutes and regulations) or externally in law, such as financial and HR regulation. These can be checked through the audit process, both internal and external – part of our assurance.

Information governance (IG) is the way an organisation manages its information assets over their lifecycle.
