Data can be shared by research groups, functional team or within departments and when using a Windows PC these will appear as individual drive letters, e.g. Z:, X: etc. or a folder within an existing shared resource. Access to shared resources is also possible from Apple OS X.

Each shared data resource must have one or more owners who are required to authorise all changes of access to their data.

Please download this form to request the creation of a new Departmental or Group shared drive or folder.

You should ensure that the requester and any additional authoriser have signed the form before submitting it. Please note that shared drives or network resources are only available to members of University Departments in the Medical Sciences Division.

You can drop the completed form in to your local MSD IT office. Alternatively you can scan and email the form to ithelp@medsci.ox.ac.uk or by post to: MSD IT Services, Room 3A25B, Level 3, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford OX3 9DU.

We will contact you by email to inform you when the new drive is available for use.

Change user access rights

Please download this form for requesting additional access to shared drives or folder, for making changes to any existing access rights, for removing access rights if a user leaves the department or Unit, or for a user name change.

After filling the form, you need to have it signed by the owner of the data to be accessed, nominated authoriser, your Departmental Administrator or their nominated representative (University MSD Departments only).

We will contact you by email to inform you when your job has been completed and access granted.

DELEGATED ACCESS To MAILBOXES

Delegated access to personal mailboxes can only be requested by the mailbox owner. This is be done on-line via a Nexus365 delegation request in the Self-service portal. This is also used to request delegated access to any project mailboxes you own.
