Energy Link Update (OUH NHS FT project)

Vital Energi’s Energy Link work, currently on Churchill Drive, will end on Friday 19 May and all the signage, road closures and fencing will be lifted on that day.

The Hospital Energy Project Team would like to thank all our stakeholders for your forbearance, patience, suggestions, understanding and goodwill over the last year. It really has been very much appreciated.

Vital Energi started work on Energy Link in the local roads on 28 November 2016 and has done an exceptional job to finish it on time. The Energy Link is just one (but important) component of the Hospital Energy Project, the benefits of which will be felt later this summer when the Combined Heat and Power Generator and all the Project’s elements become fully operational as one complete system.

It is also worth noting that the two hospitals’ heat and power generating equipment have also been entirely removed and replaced over the last year, without interrupting the power or heat to our patient-facing areas which, given the challenges involved, is quite another sizeable achievement.

Further information is available on the OUH Hospital Energy Project webpages.
