Product Design in Biomedical Engineering
Development Director, Maddison
Patrick joined Maddison in 2010, and has a mixed role covering business development, project management and technical consulting. He has 20 years’ experience in product development as a design engineer and project manager working in companies including IDEO and P&G. He has worked in a broad range of industries including medical devices, life sciences, FMCG, business electronics and industrial products. He has a deep understanding of how products are transformed from ideas into reality and how to limit technical risks. He acts as a panel member on University innovation clinics and often speaks at conferences and exhibitions on subjects such as optimising development strategies and user focused design. He is actively involved in many projects including point-of-care diagnostics, medical imaging and wearable sensors.
Patrick will be hosted in The Institute of Biomedical Engineering by Professor Alison Noble and will be available for 1 hour consultations, as well as running workshops in Design Thinking.
