The new REF requirement launched on 1 April 2016. All academics and researchers need to act on acceptance to make their outputs REF eligible. Articles and conference papers must be placed in an online repository within 3 months of acceptance for publication.

Over 1,300 of our researchers have taken advantage of the University's free service to help them meet the new requirement. The service allows Oxford researchers to quickly and easily deposit their work via Symplectic Elements.

You deposit, we’ll take care of the rest.

So while you’re celebrating your next article being accepted for publication, make sure you act on acceptance to deposit your work via Symplectic Elements.

The deposited work is made freely available in the Oxford Research Archive (ORA) once any embargo period ends. 12 months since the new policy launched, researchers in Medical Sciences have deposited over 3,000 articles to be visible in ORA and ready for the REF. The chart above shows how this breaks down by department.

For more information on open access and depositing your work visit the OA Oxford website.
