Oxfordshire County Council’s Access to Headington work has now been given the go-ahead.

Work will start on the London Road / Osler Road junction (by the Britannia pub) on Monday 26 March, as this will take advantage of the Easter break when traffic is lighter.

They will be making this informal crossing safer for pedestrians. Plans can be seen on the Access to Headington website.

This work will take 6-8 weeks to complete, but the most disruptive elements should be completed over the Easter holidays.

After completion of the disruptive phases of work on London Road / Osler Road (approximately end of April), work will start at the Marston Ferry Road / Marsh Lane (by the BP garage) to remove the two mini roundabouts. This phase will take approximately three weeks, and will be the most disruptive for traffic accessing the JR and Churchill.

The Access to Headington project team will confirm the remaining programme as soon as they can – please visit the Access to Headington website to keep up-to-date.
