This half-day classroom based MSD Skills training course is suitable for first year DPhil students preparing for their transfer of status.

COURSE AIMS

  • To inform students of transfer of status formalities and University regulations. 
  • To assist students in transfer of status preparations.
  • To allow students to hear the opinions of transfer of status assessors and previous students.

COURSE FORMAT

This course will take place as a workshop, which will involve presentations and informal discussions, with free rein for students to ask questions throughout.

Assessors can 'red flag' problems that have occurred in the past, but they can also discuss what makes for an excellent candidate and successful transfer viva. There will be chance for informal discussions with transfer assessors and a member of the Graduate Studies Office.

This course is complemented by our Writing a Transfer Report course.
