How MT20 online courses will run

Due to social distancing restricting teaching room availability, we will be delivering our training courses online again this term.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Each course description will give the dates and times for each of the live interactive sessions in each course, as well as a brief outline of the content and a section describing how the course will work.

Once you have booked on the course, you will receive booking confirmation which contains the session(s) link, along with a joining instructions document that explains how to prepare for and join the session(s) in Teams or Zoom.

All of the automated emails will ask you to refer back to the course description on the website for details of how the course will work, and to check if there is 'pre-work' involved, how this can be accessed, and if there are supplementary pre- or post-course materials held in 'My Resources' in CoSY (the booking system). 

'HOW IT WILL WORK'

This section tells you how the session(s) will be run, and if the course contains supplementary documents in 'My Resources' that are useful for reference during or after the session(s).

These documents are referred to as 'pre-course' or 'post-course' materials. Once you have booked on the course, you can go to the Dashboard (landing page) of CoSY (the booking system) where you can find a content block called 'My Resources'.

Here you can access 'pre-course material' once you are booked on the course, and 'post-course material' once your attendance on the course has been confirmed. You can access the CoSY dashboard via this link.

This section will also say if the course contains 'pre-work', and to refer you to 'This course has pre-work' section below for further information.

'THIS COURSE HAS PRE-WORK'

Pre-work consists of materials such as pre-recorded videos, documents and activities that you will need to complete before the scheduled live session. It is a compulsory part of the course and the scheduled live session will build on the pre-work. It is stored in a separate platform called Canvas.

Once you have booked on the course, we will add you to the course site in Canvas which will send you an enrolment invitation email. You need to accept this invitation to access the materials and work through them in good time before the live session(s).

As this email is sent from a separate platform, please make sure you check your junk folder if you can't find it in your inbox.
